Dr. Naomi Algeo
Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist

Dr Naomi Algeo is a Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist (Cancer Survivorship) at St. James's Hospital, Dublin, and Post-Doctoral Researcher under the Discipline of Occupational Therapy, Trinity College Dublin. Her clinical and research interests include education/work reintegration post-cancer, cancer-related fatigue, and self-management. She has delivered clinical programmes/workshops as an occupational therapist in St. James's Hospital, Dublin, University College London Hospital, and Community Cancer Support Centres across Ireland.
Dr Algeo was a PhD Scholar under the Irish Research Council Government of Ireland Postgraduate Programme. As part of her doctoral research, she co-developed the CanWork programme, and has facilitated the programme both online and in-person. Her research focus extends across other cancer cohorts also. In 2022, she was awarded as Clinical Lead, the Irish Cancer Society Allied Health Professional Award alongside Prof Deirdre Connolly (Academic Lead), for their study, 'Identifying support needs of adolescents and young adult cancer survivors for successful return to education and/or work'.
She actively sits on national and international committees for the National Cancer Control Programme, Irish Cancer Society, and Council of Occupational Therapists for the European Countries, and has sat on the WHO Development Group for Cancer Rehabilitation.
